Steven Lyle Henninger was born April 2, 1950 in North Tonawanda, New York; a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 75 surrounded by his family.
His life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for family and friends, and passion for living. Steven had a voice that could charm the birds from the trees, and he loved to share his gift with others through karaoke. Frank Sinatra and the oldies were his favorites, and he'd often belt out tunes with friends and family, bringing joy to all who listened. His love for music was only rivalled by his love for cars. He loved Cadillac and Corvettes and drove numerous luxury vehicles throughout his days keeping them in pristine condition.
At the core of Steven’s being was his deep faith in God, which guided him through life's ups and downs. He had strong love for Jehovah and would often enjoy the days sharing and learning about his promises. He was a rock for his family and friends, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. His generosity knew no bounds, and he'd give his shirt off his back for those in need. Animals held a special place in his heart, and he'd go out of his way to care for and protect them. He was allowed to sleep in his bed with his dogs, or if they could speak that is how they would explain it.
Steven survives by his two daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Smith, Chantel (Brian) Michel; grandchildren, (Taylor, Camryn, Alfred, and Emily) ; siblings, Robin (Donald) Christie, David (Kimberly) Henninger, Linda (Craig) Lambe; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and deeply. Steven was especially close to his cousins of the Zaccaria family who looked after him like a brother. He is also survived by a multitude of friends who cherished his presence in their lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn; older brother Robert Henninger and nephew Paul Henninger. A celebration of Steven's life will take place at a later time, where friends and family will gather to share stories, memories, and laughter. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
