Sherrie Lynn Madison

Sherrie Lynn Madison, 67, of Lawrenceville, Georgia peacefully passed away at her home on August 25, 2026.

Sherrie was born Sherrie Lynn Scott in 1959 to Frances and Lee Scott, and was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. In high school, Sherrie was proud to be a Stone Mountain Pirate, cheerleading for both the football and basketball teams. Her spirit and her leadership skills were recognized by her peers, being voted cheerleading captain for both teams during her senior year. Those who knew her during her school days remember her beautiful blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and her infectious smile.

Sherrie was fiercely determined and would go to great lengths once she set her mind to something. Aspiring to attend the University of Georgia, she worked to pay for college herself. She ultimately earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from the University of Georgia, with a Concentration in Interior Design.

After graduating from college, she further obtained a Real Estate License, and enjoyed a successful career.

In addition to being strong-willed and independent, Sherrie was deeply creative. Driven by her passion for art, she channeled her interior design expertise into crafting functional pieces that reflected her personal style and creativity. She had a particular love for granite and stone, which she implemented into all of her artwork.

Of all her endeavors, Sherrie would say her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother to her beautiful daughter, Tayler Crutchley. Tayler's name was chosen to honor the family of Sherrie's maternal grandmother, imparting Tayler with special connections to the generations that came before her.

Sherrie had a special love for animals, especially her beloved Chihuahuas. She took great pride in breeding them and cared for them as if they were her own children.

Sherrie loved being together with her family. Family gatherings were never quite complete without her. She became well known for arriving with some of the most unusual-and sometimes wonderfully unexpected-dishes. You never quite knew what Sherrie would bring to the table, but you could always count on her bringing a dish that gave everyone something to talk about.

Those who knew Sherrie best, may have described her as a little bit Marcia Brady and a little bit Cameron Diaz; she was beautiful, spirited, and fun-loving, but with a personality all her own. Her carefree attitude made her sense of humor impeccable. She had a way of laughing at herself, and at life.

Sherrie's life was a continuous learning experience. It was less defined by what she accomplished, but by the lessons she learned and practiced along the way.

At the time of her passing, she was still making plans and looking forward to a bright future. Though her time on Earth was unexpectedly cut short, she understood that this life she lived was only borrowed, and that death is simply a transformation. She believed that there is eternal joy beyond, and now she is free to return to the original source of that joy and/or whatever journey her soul may take.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Frances Taylor Scott; her father, Lee Beverly Scott; and her nephew, Andrew Scott.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Tayler Crutchley; her older sister, Diane; her brothers, John and his wife, Deena, and James; along with many nieces and nephews who knew her simply as "Aunt Sherrie." She also leaves behind countless memories, stories, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who loved her.

Sherrie will be cremated according to her wishes. Memorial services will be announced by her family at a later date.

She may no longer be here to walk through the door with that bright smile, a story to tell, a beloved Chihuahua by her side, or an unusual dish in her hands, but the memories of Sherrie will remain with her family and loved ones forever.
