Merle B. Handley

Merle Handley was born January 24, 1969 at the Robins Air Force Base Hospital in Warner Robins Georgia. Merle died on May 20, 2026. He had been under hospice care.

Merle graduated from Warner Robins high school and lived most of his life In Warner Robins. Merle worked in the grocery store business. He was an assistant manager for Winn-Dixie and then an assistant manager for Food Depot. Merle later worked for Purdue chicken. He quit his job when his dad died and took care of his mom. His mother had dementia and needed someone to stay with her. Merle was very devoted in taking care of her so that she could remain at home.

Merle is proceeded in death by his father Grover Cleveland Handley and his mother Vera Lee Addison Handley. He is predeceased by his sister Wanda Gail Handley Carroll as well as his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Merle is survived by his children Matthew Handley (Ashleigh) and Whitney Dean. He had 5 grandchildren- Noah Handley, Emmaleigh Handley, Tilleigh Handley, Jedidiah Dean and Juliana Dean. He is also survived by his sister Kay Handley Jones (Mark) and his brother Mike Handley (Brandi) as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Merle was cremated and a private family gathering will be held.
