Mary Ann Cray, a devoted mother and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home in Newnan, GA, on January 14, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on May 5, 1944, in McKeesport, PA, Mary Ann was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life.

Born to Frank and Sarah Keller, Mary Ann grew up in a bustling household as one of six children. Her early years were filled with the vibrant energy of family life, laying the foundation for her lifelong devotion to her own family. She cherished her role as a devoted mother to her only child, Jennifer, and wife to her high school sweetheart, Thomas Cray, whom she married in 1967. Their love story continued beyond her passing, as Thomas followed her to heaven exactly two months later.

Mary Ann’s dedication to family extended into her professional life as well. When her beloved daughter reached junior high school, Mary Ann joined the school community as a recess supervisor. Her hard work and reliability quickly earned her respect and recognition, allowing her to rise to the position of attendance supervisor—a role she held with pride well into her retirement years.

A consummate people person, Mary Ann was beloved wherever she went. Her infectious joy and warm spirit made her the heart of every gathering, whether it be neighborhood events, school functions, family get-togethers, or game nights with her daughter. Her smile and her kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, her sisters Debbie and Barbara, and her brothers Dan and Rick. She is also survived by her sister from another mother, Rochelle ~ her best friend. She was preceded in death by her brother Wayne and followed in death by her devoted husband, Thomas.

Though she has departed from this world, Mary Ann Cray leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts as a testament to a life lived with compassion and grace.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight .I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.
