John C. Bonner, 62, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away on August 12, 2025.
John was born on January 28, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ruth Ann (Kinnaird) Bonner and Charles Bonner. He grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and graduated from Providence High School, where he excelled in academics and sports—playing football and basketball, serving on the student council, and earning recognition for his academic and spiritual leadership.
He went on to serve in the United States Air Force for nine years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service, he received numerous awards and commendations, including the Air Force Commendation Medal. During and after his military career, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, attaining the rank of Knight of the Second Degree. John also built a successful career in the telecommunications industry, working with major companies such as AT&T, Cingular Wireless, Concert Management, and BT until his retirement.
A man of faith, John loved and dedicated himself to his family. His wit and charisma lit up every room he entered and touched the lives of all who knew him. Highly intelligent and deeply passionate, he enjoyed politics, Atlanta Falcons football, and Louisville basketball. He will be remembered for his compassion, generous spirit, culinary skill, and love of music.
John is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Brodzik; sons, Jonathan Bonner, Giovanti Bonner, and LeNell Chambers; grandchildren, Elijah and Aiden; and goddaughter, La’Ciera Ford Bass. He also leaves behind siblings, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Ann and Charles Bonner, and his daughter, Felicia Bonner.
A celebration of life will be held on August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at 220 Pepperdine Way, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories.
