Oscar James Moton, born on October 6, 1950, in Shady Dale, Georgia, transitioned peacefully on June 4, 2026. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Oscar leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.Oscar's life was filled with simple joys and cherished moments. He enjoyed shooting pool with friends, where laughter and camaraderie flowed freely. His love for playing the Georgia Lottery added a little thrill to his everyday life, a testament to his playful spirit. Oscar was a devoted family man who embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with his loved ones. He leaves behind a devoted wife, Mary Moton, who shared 52 wonderful years with him, and his cherished children: Jennifer Moton, Andrea and Kanika Williams, Veronica Clark, and Larry and Lashondra Saxton, all of Covington, Georgia.The vibrant family he nurtured continues to grow. Oscar is survived by his grandchildren, including Jaquan and Kiera Moton, Centrell and Lavette Delamar, Angelaca Delamar, Cortez Nolley, Larry Saxton III, Jaquory Saxton, Ladarius Saxton, Jayla Saxton, Jayden Saxton, Legend Saxton, Krishon Williams and Tydrecus Delamar along with his great-grandchildren, Arianna Moton and Kadri Moton, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Freddy Moton, Betty Jean & Charles Catchings, John Moton, David Moton, Geraldine Durham, and Henry Moton, whose bonds he cherished deeply.Oscar's memory will be celebrated by family and friends during a memorial service that will be announced in the coming days. His life was a testament to humility, loyalty, and genuine kindness. Though he has transitioned from this world, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the many cherished memories and the love he shared. We will forever carry his legacy in our hearts.
