Frances Taylor Scott, 93, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025.

Frances lived a long and beautiful life filled with creativity, family, and deep joy. She loved sewing, dancing, painting, the mountains, and music—especially the songs of Alan Jackson, which always brought a smile to her face. She worked as a talented seamstress for the Sears Fabrication Center before starting her own successful drapery business, where her artistry touched countless homes and lives.

A graduate of Avondale High School, Frances later attended Georgia State University. Before starting her family, she worked for a time for an orthodontist. Her life changed forever the day she met her husband, Lee Scott, at a bus stop in Decatur, Georgia. They fell in love, married, and began a beautiful life together, raising four children—two boys and two girls.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Scott; her grandson, Andrew Scott; her parents, Robert Emerald Taylor and Hilder Carlson Taylor; and her brothers, Bob Taylor and Charlie Taylor.

She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Vaughn; her children, John Scott and his wife Deena Scott, Sherrie Madison, James Scott, and Diane Scott; as well as many grandchildren: Michael Scott, Murari Cramer, Kamala Cramer, Daniel Scott, Farrah Scott (wife of Andrew Scott), Richard Scott and his wife Jordan Scott, Misty Scott, Truly Daye, Angelea Godwin and her husband Zack Godwin, Vanessa Cantrell and her husband Joey Cantrell, Victoria Hall and Matt Hall, Taylor Crutchley, and Veronika Davis and her husband Darien Davis.

She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren:Brittany Noll, Madison Grace Tanner, Marquis Scott, Jacob Scott, Sabrina Scott, Alex Scott, Hayley Scott Lillie, Madison Dru Scott Mathis, Jordyn Morgan, Kayden Strozier, Gabriel Strozier, Ryder Rowland, Ceirrea Haney, Caleb Hall, Cayleigh Hall, Courtney Hall, Savannah Cantrell, Brooklyn Cantrell, Charlotte Cantrell, Larry Joseph Cantrell, Beckham Cantrell, Jackson Davis, and Elijah Davis, and her great-great-grandchildren: Andi Morgan, Ace Morgan, and Zander Davis.

Frances will be forever remembered for her gentle heart, her artistic spirit, and the love she poured into her family.

A service to honor her life will be held on January 10th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jasper United Methodist Church, with a gathering to follow.
