David Lynn McCain, a father, brother and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on January 28, 1941, in Rome, Georgia, he lived a life marked by kindness and warmth. David was a proud veteran who served in the National Guard from April 1, 1960, until his discharge on February 13, 1968, achieving the rank of Specialist E-5. Following his military service, he became a truck driver, navigating the roads and landscapes with dedication and pride.

David was a father to his five children: Linda, Joe, David, Shiloh, and Russell, each of whom he cherished in his own unique way. His legacy continued through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Known as "the sweetest man" by those who knew him, he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. His love for animals was evident in the bond he shared with his dog, Angel, who was one of the greatest loves of his life, especially once she outgrew her youthful penchant for mischief.

A man of faith, David found comfort and solace in his love for Jesus and cherished the simple pleasures life had to offer. His ability to connect with others and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression on the many who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who remember him fondly for his unwavering spirit and loving heart.

Cremation will take place, and a memorial service celebrating David's life will be held at 4671 S. Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101, in the coming days. His family invites all who knew him to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, filled with love and laughter.
