Colleen Phyllis Ross, born on June 17, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Roswell, Georgia. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Colleen was a devoted mother to her daughter, Carissa Ross, and a beloved sister to Denise Hayes and Philip Hodges. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Doug Harlow and sister-in-law Donna Hodges, along with several cherished nieces and nephews: Matt, Michael, Patrick, Stephen, William, Danielle, and Jacqueline.
Colleen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid gardener, she eagerly anticipated planting season despite her disdain for pollen, tending to her blooms with love. Her artistic spirit blossomed through digital coloring, particularly enjoying the satisfaction of color-by-number designs. A fierce card player, she delighted in Spider Solitaire and took up the challenge of Mahjong in her later years. A lifelong reader, she devoured every book by Stephen King, Richard Bachman, and Anne Rice, finding solace and adventure within their pages.
In her neighborhood, Colleen was known for her warm conversations during walks, connecting with everyone she met. She held a fondness for shopping, often indulging in QVC and HSN, while her heart thrummed to the rhythms of local live music. Despite her novice skills, she never shied away from a game of pool with friends, embracing every moment with laughter and camaraderie. Above all, Colleen treasured her friendships, holding them close and showing immense love and support.
Colleen's spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her, a vibrant tapestry woven from memories shared. She has been cremated, and her family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the days to come.
