Betty Lou Verhine, a long-time resident of Marietta, GA, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2026. A woman of profound faith and boundless devotion, Betty spent her life nurturing her family and serving her community with a gentle spirit and vibrant energy.

Betty’s professional life was defined by her compassion. She served as a nurse at Cobb Wellstar Hospital for over 30 years, where her warmth provided comfort to countless patients and colleagues alike.

She was the devoted wife of the late Edward Verhine. Together, they fostered a home built on kindness, humor, and unwavering support. Betty’s greatest joy was found in her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Betty’s spirit lives on through the family she adored:

  • Children: Dennis Verhine, Eyvonne Petersen (Jeff), and Mike Verhine (Teri).

  • Grandchildren: Amanda Kay (Danny), Matthew Petersen, Harrison Verhine, and Noah Verhine.

  • Great-Grandchild: Luka Petersen.

She will be remembered for her generous heart and the unconditional love she extended to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
