Ann Garner Krummel

Ann Garner (Henley) Krummel, 89, of Stone Mountain, Georgia received her angel wings on Sunday, July 20, 2025 surrounded by her family at home. Ann was born to Charles and Eleanor Henley of Barberton, Ohio on March 26, 1936. 

She excelled at ballet in her youth, and was offered a position at the New York City Ballet. As a loving wife and mother, she prioritized family over dance, and married her love, Robert B Krummel on July 16, 1955. Ann was a devout Catholic and taught CCD classes to 2nd-4th grade students from 1970-1982 at Holy Cross and Corpus Christi. She was an unmatched homemaker, frequently caring for, entertaining, feeding, and serving her entire family and community for decades. She was well known for her Christmas cookies, hors d’oeuvres, elegant holiday decor, and fancy red hats. Her sparkling attire matched her sparkling personality, and as such, she became a founding member of the Stone Mountain Dynamic Divas, a chapter of the Red Hats International in 2006. Ann was also a member of Stone Mountain Red Hatters Not Taken for Granite group. Ann enjoyed gardening and served as president of the Smokerise Garden Club in the 1970s. She regularly hosted teas and holiday dinners for her family and friends, even into her last year of life. 

She is survived by her four sons, Robert II and wife Charlene, Patrick, Timothy, and Charles (wife Susan, deceased), former daughter-in-law Franki, her five grandchildren, Bradley, Emey and husband Tim, Timmy, Freeman, and Bill, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 A celebration of her life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3773 Chamblee Tucker Road, Atlanta GA 30341 on Wednesday, August 6th at 11:00 am, with a potluck reception (please bring a dish to share, 8 servings) to follow. In lieu of flowers, please kindly direct donations to St. Joseph’s Indian School.
